2025 Year in Review.

A Year of Growth, Gratitude and Grounded Ambition

As 2025 draws to a close, I reflect on what has been another meaningful year of growth for KorumLegal. Each year brings its own opportunities and challenges, but through it all, I’m grateful to be surrounded by an incredible community, made up of our clients, consultants, partners, and team members. As each one of you continues to place your trust in us, you challenge us, and inspire us to build better, think differently, and stay true to our purpose of delivering modern, people‑centred legal solutions.

This year, that collective effort translated into some significant milestones. While I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, I’m even more proud of how we achieved it - together, with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Celebrating Recognition in NewLaw

We were honoured to be named a Top Ranked – Band 1 Alternative Legal Service Provider (ALSP) in APAC by the Chambers NewLaw Guide for the third consecutive year. This recognition reflects the faith our clients have in us and the dedication of our consultants and team members as they bring our vision to life every day.

Personally, I was also humbled to be recognised as a Band 1 NewLaw Individual in APAC for the second year running. The accolade belongs to our entire team. 

Strengthening Our Leadership and Regional Presence

This year we welcomed several exceptional leaders who have already made a significant impact:

• Gerard Tang, joining as Commercial Manager in Singapore, has been instrumental in deepening our presence across South‑East Asia.
• Anna Pearson, our new Chief Strategy Officer, also based in Singapore, has brought clarity, structure, and strategic foresight to our next phase of growth.
• In Hong Kong, Stephanie Kwok joined us as Head of Talent & Community, leading our consultant engagement and talent strategy with energy and empathy.

Their leadership strengthens our foundations and positions us well for the opportunities ahead.

Launching Korum Academy

Marking the soft launch of Korum Academy, we co‑hosted our first Academy webinar with the team from FTI Consulting, addressing the critical topic:

“The GC’s Role in Cybersecurity: Best Practices in Preparation and Incident Response.”

Led by industry experts Eva Kwok and Eli Serota of FTI Consulting, the session offered practical, actionable insights for legal leaders navigating an increasingly complex cyber landscape.

This marks the beginning of a broader learning and development initiative that we’re excited about expanding in 2026.

Deepening Conversations with the GC Community

Our exclusive GC Roundtable Series continued in both Hong Kong and Singapore, bringing together legal leaders to discuss the issues shaping the profession. This year’s themes included:

• Building the Legal Team of 2030 and Beyond
• The GC Metrics Dashboard
• Navigating the Rise of the Fractional Economy, Outsourcing and AI

For me, these conversations remain one of my favourite parts of the year - intimate, honest, collaborative and always thought‑provoking. 

Showcasing Leaders, Innovators and Our Own Community

This year, our content platforms continued to spotlight the people contributing to the legal ecosystem:

• Our GC Spotlight series profiled 12 outstanding General Counsels, who each shared their unique perspective on the evolving role of the modern GC.
• Our LegalTech Soapbox featured 12 innovative LegalTech companies, highlighting the thinkers and the tools propelling the industry forward.
• Through our Meet the KorumLegal Consultant series, we celebrated the journeys and expertise of the consultants who are the heartbeat of our business.

These stories remind us that NewLaw is, at its core, a people movement.

Continuing to Build a Purpose‑Driven Business

Beyond the highlights, 2025 was a year of strengthening our internal capabilities, refining our service offerings, and investing in the technology and processes that will support our next chapter. We also continued our commitment to flexible work, diversity, and building a community where people feel valued and empowered.

Looking Ahead

As we move into 2026, we look forward to celebrating our 10^th birthday in March. From humble beginnings with a laptop and a desire for change to a portfolio of over 500 clients and a network of more than 1000 consultants in 30 countries across the globe – I'm hugely proud of what we’ve achieved in a decade.

Today, we’re more committed than ever to our mission: to reimagine legal services in a way that is modern, human, and impactful. There is still much to do but we are energised and ready for the journey ahead.
